Foreword A: Getting the most from this book
1. What is the most important question of your life? What on earth I am here for? 2. If your child asks you why he/she exist on earth, how would you give him/her its answer? An individual answer 3. If a person does not know why he exists in earth, what would be his attitude toward his life? He has no major direction of his life, just as a boat floating on the ocean without a destination port. 4. How to find out the answer for the above question? By taking a spiritual journey 5. What is the meaning of spiritual journey? Trying all the puzzle pieces of our life to fit together to see the big picture of God’s purpose for our life meanings. The spiritual journey will enable us to have a far and broader insight of our life beyond the near sighted and narrower insight. Illustration: 1. What would be your reaction in the following circumstances? 2. To whom did these events happen ? To Joseph, one of Jacob’s 12 sons 3. Did he know the reason why he had to go through these ordeals? Not at the time of each event 4. When did he find out? When he became a Prime Minister of Egypt 5.How did Joseph interpreted the above events of bad experience after he became a Prime Minister? 6. What did Joseph find out by these puzzle peaces fitting together? God’s purpose for him was to become a Prime Minister of Egypt. 7. Is God’s purpose for each person a blessing or God’s benefit at the expense of your sacrifice? (James 1:17, Romans 1:2b) His purpose to each person is good, perfect and pleasing Romans 12:2b 8. Is God having a blessed and detailed purpose for everyone in the world? Yes 9. When you believe this fact, what do you call that belief? Faith 10. What is the benefit of believing God’s plan for your life?
1) When you are enforced to depart from the most loving person
2) When your entrusted and loving friends betrayed you
3) When you are forced to work over 10 years at the labor camp because of someone’s betrayal
4) When you are imprisoned at the price of your honest doing before God
1) The forced separation from his loving father (Genesis 37:3): God had to separate from his home in order to train him as a Prime Minister. He became closer to God, as he is lonely. He started to experience the living God.
2) The rejection and betrayal of his brothers (Genesis 37:28): He learned how to forgive them, as he trusted that God is in charge of his life.
3) 10 years of slavery (Genesis 37:36, 39:4): He learned to understand people and how to work with people and how to manage people. This experience was a great benefit for him later after he became a Prime Minister.
4) 2 years of imprisonment at the expense of upright act before God (Genesis 39:16-20, 41:39-42, Romans 8:28): It was God’s wisdom that Joseph stayed in the Royal prison to learn the knowledge and politics of the palace. The Royal prison became the access route for Joseph to the king.
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
